As some of you know, California is trying to pass this bill to stop people from spanking their children. I am no advocate of child abuse. There are times when children do need to be disciplined, which is NOT child abuse. I believe the Bible has it right with the following scriptures:

…from scratch. Well I have been wanting to try this recipe for quite a while and finally dragged the cubed steak out of the freezer to do so. This a recipe I got from the Pioneer Woman’s website. She calls it: Marlboro Man’s Favorite Sandwich.

…Okay so someone else’s version of gourmet may be different. I looked it up online in the dictionary and this is what I get:
gourmet~ of or characteristic of a gourmet, esp. in involving or purporting to involve high-quality or exotic ingredients and skilled preparation: gourmet meals; gourmet cooking.
Well I do use high quality ingredients, we are currently working on the skill level though. Hey it’s my cake and it is a gourmet cake if I say it is, mmmkay? LOL

Okay so I cook and bake alot from scratch. I do have a grain mill and organic ww berries but I have been very bad the past few months and been using store bought bread flour and all purpose flour.
Anyways… I can get a 25 lb bag of bread flour from Costco for $8.89. Pretty good. I forget what the price for a 25 lb bag of all purpose (ap) is there.
A few months ago there was no price on the shelf and two 10 lb bags of gold medal ap flour wrapped together in plastic at Smart N Final. I asked the bag boy if he could check the price for me. He came back and said it was $4.00 so I asked him to get me another set.

…last weekend. Well I did get a bit nervous after the first 80 miles of the drive with 110 left to go. LOL But I made it. It was really good seeing my half brother and I got to meet his older half sister and her husband. They were nice people but pretty quiet. His other sister was running amuck(the one I have met before) and we never did see her the entire time.

I am feeling alot more calm than I was yesterday, thank God. Keep the prayers coming. I was so upset yesterday Joey thought maybe we should just call the whole thing off. But I kept telling myself, “I can do all things thru Christ which strengthens me.” If I don’t go I know I would be kicking myself forever about this. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to finish getting ready and Joey is still sleeping!

WOW! I actually thought of something frugal to share with everyone today. I have always loved popcorn! What I hate as I have become more health conscious is all the stuff they put into microwave popcorn bags. Yes there is still air popping but I don’t have one of those. So this is what I do. I buy about 100 brown bags from the local Walmart or Target, then I buy a big bag of popcorn kernels from the store. We use a stapler to close the bag up.
